Annual General Meeting

The (GWC)2 Annual General Meeting will be held on Friday, April 27, 2012 at the University of Waterloo. More information will be posted when available.

The (GWC)2 is hosting an information session to be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at the University of Guelph and Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at the University Waterloo. Please see the attached announcement for details

Prof Adrian Schwan is pleased to announce that a former student of his, Dr. Jennifer O’Donnell (PhD 2005), is the Associate Editor of the European Journal of Organic Chemistry. In celebration of the International Year of Chemistry (IYC), she is the Guest Editor for a Special Issue of Eur. J. Org. Chem. dedicated to Women in Chemistry. Prof. Janusz Pauliszyn was recently elected as Fellow to the Royal Society of Canada, a status that is considered to be the country's highest academic honour. Pawliszyn's citation states that he is “developing state-of-the-art, integrated and automated analytical methods and instruments for on-site analysis and monitoring of living and environmental systems. GWC2 Faculty, PDFs and Graduate students are invited to come out andattend the event.

Linda Nazar winner of 2011 Rio Tinto Alcan Award

Prof. Linda Nazar was recently awarded the 2011 Rio Tinto Alcan Award from the Canadian Chemical Society. This award is presented to a scientist who has made a distinguishing contribution to the fields of inorganic chemistry or electrochemistry while working in Canada.
